  I’ve added a new bluing process to the CKG shop.  I can now offer hot caustic bluing.  I’ve had a lot of customers ask about having a gun re-blued, but the Belgian bluing process was too expensive for them to consider.  I’m going to try to keep the cost for a hot caustic re-blue around $175.00.  But, the price may vary with the type of gun and also will be determined by the amount of work required to prepare the gun for bluing.  The real cost of refinishing a gun is in preparing the gun to be blued.  The condition of the gun when it comes into the shop vs. the condition that the gun owner wants to bring the gun to by restoration determines the amount of work necessary.  The time required to accomplish the work affects the cost of the project.

  The Chisholm Trail Antique Gun Association Show in Wichita, Kansas was a very good show for me.  I sold six knives and took some orders for knives there.  The CTAGA put on a real fine show.  There are lots of guns and knives to see there.  Thank you, to all who came by my table and appreciated my work, and a very special thanks to those who purchased knives from me.

  I hope to see some of you at the Oklahoma Custom Knife Show.  The show will be in Oklahoma City at the Holiday Inn Ballroom.  Admission is FREE.  The show is sponsored by the Knife Group Association of Oklahoma.  The Knife Group is a fine bunch of folks who are mostly knifemakers.  I recently joined the Knife Group and now have a link to their site included in this site.  I had to join an Oklahoma knifemaker’s group because Kansas doesn’t appear to be in the “known world” of knifemaking. J

  Yea, I’m still working on my knife models………..  I’ve got most of them finished and photographed.  Just have a couple to finish up and then I’ll get them all on the web site.

  I’ll soon be adding a links page to the web site.  I’m working on agreements for reciprocating links and will post them on a new page in this site.
