I apologize to anyone who has been checking for my newsletter for the first couple of days of March. We were out of town and I did not get it posted on the first. We were visiting our daughter Tara and her family in Oklahoma. We had not seen our Grandson Aidan since he was born. He is almost three months old now and is really growing fast. We had a great time there and the weather was BEAUTIFUL. It was sunny and the temperature was in the mid seventies. We were driving around with the windows down and the sunroof open. Back in Kansas today, it is cloudy, windy and the temperature is in the low thirties. I am soooo ready for spring…..
The Arkansas Knifemaker’s Association Show was very good this year. It was great to see my knifemaker buddies again. My next show is the Chisholm Trail Gun Collector’s Show in Wichita Kansas, the weekend of March 8th and 9th.
I am currently working on engraving one of my Cimarron model hunters. This will be the first knife that I will be willing to offer for sale with my engraving on it; if I don’t mess it up….. I should have it done today, and if it looks decent, will have it at the Wichita show. I will post photos of it on the gallery page as soon as I have it done. Also, I should receive the photos of the collaboration knife from the photographers in about a week. I will post them up as soon as I get them.
For those who have been on my website before, you will notice that I have removed all of the gunsmithing information from it. This is a continuation of my efforts to back out of the gunsmithing business and turn my focus onto knifemaking. I will attempt to service my old customers as best that I can, but I will not be taking any new customers. All gunsmithing that I accept now will be done on a part time basis and will have to be done on a timeline that does not interfere with my knifemaking.
I better get this posted and get to scratching on that hunter!
