I finally got the Mastersmith knife finished for the ABS auction.  A photo of it is on the “Knife Gallery” page.  This is my photo of the knife.  I sent it to Chuck Ward to have it photographed, but have not received a copy of Chuck’s photo yet.  I’m sure Chuck’s will be better than mine, so I will post his shot as soon as I get it.

I was really pleased with how this knife came out.  This is the first “dog bone” handled knife that I have made.  I didn’t have much information on how other makers build the dog bone handle, so I had to figure out most of the process myself.  Once I was well into building the handle, I called Tim Hancock to ask him a question about how he made one part and I found out that the process that I chose for making this handle was almost exactly like his.  So, I guess I’m not too dumb, since I was building it the same way as the all time master of this design.

I am currently working on some knives to take to Atlanta, for the Blade Show.  I’ve got three damascus hunters, a damascus bowie and a carbon steel camp knife in process right now.  I hope to get these knives finished and maybe turn out a couple of slip-joint folders and/or carbon steel hunters.

The KCKA Shop Tour is just around the corner!  It is scheduled for April 11th at our house, in Meriden.  Hope to see you there!!!!
